I'm pretty sure the red, green, and white saw was the XL-850, which was a solid state ignition 82 cc auto oiler, but every XL-700 I have ever seen was blue and a manual oiler 77cc saw, the predecessor to the XL-901. Spare parts from dealers were often added when pieces broke, but I vaguely remember this thread from the past and it seems you might have had a unbeknownst model

First of all I'd like to apologize to you TJ for "hijacking" your thread.I was only trying to make my point in my thinking that the 700's were not blue, but rather red & white. There just seem to be the non-believers here though that think it possible that I might have a rarity,an XL-700 that was factory painted another color other than the standard blue that 99.9% of 700's were painted. The 700 I have is a manual oiler only as required by the 700 specs.I looked to make sure it doesn't have an auto oiler.I also took this pic, even though it's a bit fuzzy you can still see that the tag on the saw says it's an XL-700. Folks will notice that some posts have been deleted...this was going nowhere good. I'm locking this thread. If someone wants to start a new thread discussing XL-700 anomalies, by all means please do. Please keep it civil.
Sorry for your thread going haywire TJ. IN the spirit of your original post: Happy New Year to you!
