The etching primer is on and the next step will be a sanding primer. I'll paint the white on the clutch cover and the starter then star spraying the red base coat. My paint shop matched the green perfectly and put it in a can. I'm using a ceramic paint for the red and white that stands up to 500 degrees so the heat won't affect the color or durability.

Wow that's quite a collection, if my shop had that many saws it would also have a bed, as the better half may object...bob

Getting close to getting the painting done. I decided to brush the white, it's a little trickier to get it to cover and float smooth with no brush marks, but easier than masking if you have a steady hand. I need to put on a base clear coat then I will be assembling the saw. I think the green came out just right. The drive case and cover were broken and I replaced them with NOS off a newer blue SXL and I may replace the studs and cover when I find a decent cover with 5/16" holes and new stud locking collars. I'd like to keep it original. Turbobuick has offered me a ID plate that is close to mine, so that is just unbelievable, I'm stoked.

I was hoping have the Christmas saw completed by tomorrow, but that isn't going to happen. It's been 10 days since my fall off the ladder and I haven't got any better so off the to the VA this morning, oh boy.

I'll have to try that. I've used pinstripe tape in the past. Works great on the ribs but not very good on the letters

There is just something oddly satisfying about seeing newly painted saw parts ready for the assembly process!!! Nice job on the starter housing....I hate painting those! Can't wait to see it with the decals on it! The red, white and green colored saws are real eye catchers. That reminds me...I need to get one....
