I have an 80's model Super 2. It acts like it's out of gas after running 1/2 tank of gas. Fill it back up and it will run for another 1/2??? Any ideas? I have changed the fuel filter and loosened the gas cap with no help.

Sounds like it's not venting properly. There's a duck bill in the fuel line that's probably turned to goo. Ed

You might have a short fuel line that does not reach the bottom of the tank, or a hole a that level that lets in air. If it can suck air the engine will get no fuel.

These guys are on the right track. When you open the fuel tank do you hear a "woosh"? Once it stalls, try removing the gas cap and see if it'll run with the cap off (be careful as fuel will want to slosh out). If so, the duck bill is pry to blame, they are a very common failure and if plugged, will not let air into the tank, thus not letting fuel out. If not, I'd lean more with Dan and the fuel line being broken or a hole in it.
If you haven't replaced the lines, I would recommend doing so in any case. Its not a huge project and cheap insurance. The original lines tend to degrade over time.
