Hello all, back from a long time away due to illness. So i started working on my saws again. I have a q on the rope routing. It hopped off but not sure how to put it back on. Anyone? Thx in advance.

Welcome back and sorry to hear you've been ill.
You'll need to untie or cut-off at least one knot. It's easiest to remove the pulley to wrap the rope around it. The rope should be wrapped so that it spins the engine counterclockwise; once wrapped the pulley should be reinstalled with the rope end in that open groove. Then when the pulley is secured you can hold the end of the rope in the groove as you tension the pulley two turns. Then fish the rope through the eyelet and through the starter grip & tie it off.

Welcome back!
Yes, I would pull the pulley off and check the spring to be sure it was not damaged, particularly at the inner end where it hooks to the pulley.
I like to tie on the handle and feed the rope through to the pulley. I wind the rope on the pulley and secure the pulley in place. The rope at this point is not tight, the spring is unwound.
I then pull the slack rope into the slot in the pulley and wind in a couple of turns to tension the rope. The slot allows the rope to clear the housing as tension is wound into the spring. This is the same as Leon discusses above but the handle is already tied on. The rope does not have to be fed through the hole in the cover under tension so if I loose my grip, I do not loose the end of the rope. The handle has to be spun to remove twists imparted during the winding process.
I always check that the rope returns properly and add a turn of tension to the spring if needed. I also pull the rope all the way out to be sure the spring does not bind and get damaged by a too long pull, the rope should come tight before the spring binds.
