Just got this one in and started cleaning it up and installing the correct parts and upgrading others from a donor saw. SXL130SL RH by Clasec, on Flickr SuperXL130 Donor saw by Clasec, on Flickr I was intrigued by the brakes on these earlier models as they are bigger, more square and made out of aluminum. The one on the saw is beat up but I had a good one on hand. Notice the lower band mount is not drilled.More work for me. SXL130SL cover by Clasec, on Flickr This brake uses a different handle mount than the newer ones and appears to be made from aluminum and solid mounted.(no shoulder bolts with rubber sleeves) SXL130SL Handle mount by Clasec, on Flickr SXL130 Handle mount by Clasec, on Flickr Now to get the grips on. If we only had all the IPL's it would make it so much easier, especially for a previously unseen UT model. Pic of the module when you have time please.

That is the early Solid State Ignition system, the module is the red rectangular piece attached to the coil. Any markings on the red plug wire ? ... never seen that on a Homelite-Terry before, may have been changed .. alot can happen on a 40+ year old saw.

I didn't see any markings on the wire. I was wondering what the red rectangle was. Do you happen to know the brand of the ignition? Thanks,Charles.

Unsure of the brand of the module, may be a Terry-only made piece, haven't seen one on a US made saw. All models of this series used Wico flywheels, the ignition system to match would be Wico/Prestolite I have the same module on my '75 Super VI-200, my '79 Super XL-130's (3) all have the blue Prestolite modules. 1978 may have been the last year for the red rectangular module attached to the coil.

Great pictures, thank you! I've never actually seen that module before, just read about it. I'm guessing that the module is very similar to an Atom branded module.

I had to compare the Atom to this module and the Atom is half the size, have a blue Atom on a '81 XL-76 .. and an orange Atom on a '69 Pion--r 3200. Believe Atom modules were made in Australia...

My '78 XL-76 ( points/condenser ignition ) has the same stamped numbers on it's coil. The red rectangular module attached to the coil of my '75 SUPER VI-200 is stamped; A-122350 PAT. PEND. Best I can gather, the modules were Terry made and used on units from 1974 to 1978.
