I just picked up this saw off craigslist in Ct and it's in what appears to be 100% complete condition with all the decals including the shop it was purchased from. I rebuilt the HL carb w/ OEM kit and new fuel lines. I'm going to give it a bath with mild soap to preserve the decals then some clearcoat. Going to replace the pullcord too because this one is stiff. It came with an Oregon 17" bar so not sure if that's original but the entire saw shows very little use. I'll post some pictures of the bar so someone can confirm if the bar is original, not sure because it has no bar art decal on it. The chain is a .404 .063 62dl. I've included the pictures of the bar for confirmation whether or not it's original. Al D.

Thats a very nice Zip! The bar is not original, but is a correct bar, and probably made in the early/mid 1970's. The bar is a 17-19 inch bar, F014 mount, (17inch on a direct drive, 19 inch on a gear drive) and is in .063 gauge.

Ok thanks, I see where it says 17-19 and 63. I'm going to order a few loops of chain from Frawley's this week. I have a Zip that I'm going to try and use the piston and cylinder for my 17, appears to be the same size piston so hopefully it will work. I'm going to measure everything first and compare the 2.

That is an extremely nice original! What condition is the exhaust in? Usually the screen is all burnt out if the saw had much use. I'm guessing this one is nice. You could easily find an old homelite bar for this zip if you want to make it original, but that's all personal preference. Anyway, good find!
