I'm new here in this nice place, so I think I should introduce myself first before starting to talk about my new member in my garage. I'm a saw collector from Germany, collecting all saws that please too me As you can see I like the lovely old Homelite as well. That's the reason why I decided to participate in this forum. That's short about me and now I want show you my latest find: Not really a beauty but she's running and will need a lot of love The screen on the starter is missing (If you know one pleas else me know - thanks!!), there are a lot of broken parts at the back side and the compression is not as expected ... So, something to do. You see also my Super 1050 automatic which is in much better condition. Beside that I own a C-5 and several XL-12. Hope you enjoy my pictures. Welcome to the House of Homelite. Nice saws! On the 2000, the compression release holders are missing, hence could be reason why compression is low. The lever has to hold it closed. First thing I would look at.

Thank you for your warm welcome! I'm glad to find this page as it is absolutely not easy get something for Homelite in Europe. Of course many saws were produced in Belgium in the past but not too much survived. It's comparable easy to find XL-12 and the bigger sisters 250, 300, 380 but the nice ones like a 2000 or 1050 are very rare. But as you can see I managed to get to of them Btw. thanks for the idea with the compression release holder - it's there. That's not the reason. Guess oil residues or sticking compression rings are the reason. I will check that in detail as I'm going to dismantle the saw for a technical review. Have a nice day day on the other edge of the world! <script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/80dd7f84/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/80dd7f84/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

Thanks! I have to see what will be next. More or less I'm thinking that'll be the first saw I'm going to repaint. Paintwork on this 2000 is really ugly. Keep you informed.

Welcome to the forum! Very nice saws. Acquired them used or had them from way back? Sorry somehow I overlooked your question ... Both of them are bought recently. The 1050 about one year ago and the 2000 just arrived these days. No as a working saw they're both too big and heavy. In this case I'm using German and Swedish saws - sorry! <script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/80dd7f84/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/80dd7f84/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

Btw. just a question - does someone know where to get or how to rebuilt this screen at the starter? You know the aluminium screen protection from saw dust and chips ... Thank you for your help!!
