Hi all
I was inspecting all the parts of my Super 1050 and I noticed that one side of the reed valve has 2 reeds on it.Is this normal or what? I also don't know which way it came off. Also some of the reeds have a paper thin gap and aren't sealing. Is it ok to just turn them over and see if it helps? I installed this razor blade to show the extra valve without
bending one.

No, not normal. Should be only 1 reed per opening. Replace any reeds that are bent and not sealing.

That’s definitely an interesting find. Are you the first one doing work that deep in the saw? I could see that being a factory mistake with how thin they are and they would have been coated with oil

I don't have much history on the saw. I just bought it from a farmer recently on craigslist not running. I dissassembled it and it needs a piston which I may have found. The farmer said it used to be the best saw on the farm, they broke for lunch one day and it would not restart.
