Hi all
I have 2 model 330's that have been sitting for over 10 years. I just completed the carb boot replacement on one of them. It was in 2 pieces. Thanks for the video Leon. Before the repair I dumped out all remaining fuel and it smelled like varnish. The saw starts and has good throttle response but just won't idle. Does anyone know what the initial adjustment screw settings should be?
Thanks Wes

Thanks for the idle info. Much better. Now is there an easy way to get my oil pump primed?

The oil pump is driven by crankcase pulses. Run the saw at 1/2 throttle for several minutes. If still no oil, check all hoses. See this vid for oiler repair. m.youtube.com/watch?v=268CdwtwGxM

When i stop cursing at the world I will try that. I just finished running it for less than 30 seconds several times after 3 or 4 disassemblies. I didn't know it took that long. Each time there was plenty of oil in the pump just not coming out at the bar. The oil delivery port is definatly not clogged.
Thanks

I have successfully struck oil. After reading a lot of posts on this board I dumped out the 10w30 and put in transmission fluid. Then I let it run for a while
and made 1 cut in an old rotten log out back. There is no mistaking the smell of burnt transmission fluid. The pump works. Now all I have to do decide
what to use when i dump the rest of the trans fluid. What is best for bar oil in the North Dakota summer?

I use Tractor Supply B&C oil & it's always worked well for me.In the summer using it straight is fine, but in colder temps I thin it with one pint of kerosene pergal.of oil,or you can use fuel oil or diesel fuel. You'll sdtill get plenty of lube with either one. There are still the hard heads that insist on running straight bar oil in the winter, but those are the same people who complain when their saw stops oiling too. Thanks. There is a Tractor Supply not far from me. About 10 miles. I will give it a try. I have a tree to cut down that was blown down in a storm
about 2 weeks ago. I cut all the branches off already but I didn't want to cut the big stuff without a backup saw. Just in case I get the bar pinched.

I hear what you're sayin'.When I go out cutting I usually take about 4 saws,2 limbers & 2 bigger saws. Not so much in case of a pinch (that does happen though),but moreso in case one of the saws goes down, then I've got a backup & can still keep cutting.I was out cutting today in 85 degree heat, not very comfortable.Lol I did manage to get 2 loads of ash & one load of pine for bon fires home.I've got another load or 2 of pine to bring home tomorrow. All this wood was given to me by my neighbor who had the state come & take the trees down for him.
