I stocked up when Jeff has his dollar auctions, most of the time they only sold for a buck or two. I now probably have as many as what’s in Scott’s picture.

They also couldn't tell me what the difference is between the 520 & 523 or if they are interchangeable. I really hate corporate America. See pics above, I'm not sure of difference either but they are interchangable

. Is there a Tillotson carb version for the Super EZ's and Super 2's? This is getting really tiring. [/div][/quote] Early Super 2’s could have came with a Tillotson, (HK16B) , I really don’t know on Super EZ’s. I’ve only seen them with Walbro’s.

See pics above, I'm not sure of difference either but they are interchangable I'm not sure of the difference but I know by the mid-80's our shop used the 93910 kit in everything regardless of saw/carb model. It was the only one we stocked. Most of them were replaced due to a complete carb teardown/cleaning rather than an actual bad check valve being encountered.
Edit: Just realized a supercession had been posted from the old number to the 93910-B. Guess that's why we only stocked the latter.

Much appreciation to all those who rendered valuable assistance with this. The alternate numbers paid off. Using the 65386 # I was able to find an ebay vendor that had a listing with "more than 10 available". They were listed at $9- each but did have a "make an offer" button, so I offered $5.-/ea for 8 of them and they showed up just 3 days later.
Scott, your stash is safe for the future... But thanks for the offer to share, much appreciated.
Two of the reasons I made this a sticking point was 1)While the saw ran, it was impossible to tune. Cut fine at WOT, but didn't want to idle reliably no matter what. & 2)while rebuilding it, I did test the check valve using the fuel line, drawing air up through it and it failed that test. Though, it's always impossible to tell if you're getting a good seal with the hose.
Having kits on hand now, I pulled the brass plug/screen last night and could see the valve disc is deteriorated. Was surprised it was still very flexible, but maybe too flexible now. Looks like a coating of some kind is partially worn away, hard to tell.
I have to wonder if those of you who rarely have issues with this part maybe are having better luck due to living in states where ethanol free fuel is much more common. It's being nearly impossible to get here I think, makes machines from this area more prone to greater issues. And if I'm not mistaken, E-10 fuel was in widespread use in New Jersey a lot earlier than many other states. Regardless, I would just prefer to know the carb is at 100% after going to the trouble of a rebuild and not have to tear it down a second time.

Has anyone ever messed with a Walbro SDC 50a carb. It has a fixed high jet and a main needle and idle needle. Just rebuilt it and cannot tune the damn thing for the life of me!

Not sure what you mean by a "main needle".. Low side needle maybe? Walbro's IPL and parts list shows, what looks like, a high & low adjustment needle but oddly enough, these aren't in the numbered list at all. The SDC does have a check valve, just like the HDC and not being able to tune it is a classic symptom.

The main is the L screw I believe, but it is odd that it is separate from where it shows the H and L screws on the carb body. The needle to the left is the idle and the one to the right is the L screw I believe. This is a yellow painted Homelite I swear!! Lol B74729DD-5B04-4DA7-8764-DB3CF140175B by Justin Jacobs, on Flickr

Uh huh... Yellow painted Homelite what? Seriously though. That is a strange animal there. What saw is it exactly?
From what I see, the left screw is the low & the one to the right, slightly higher is the High. What is the one on the top with the (spring?)? I think the idle is elsewhere.

PM 60?!?!? How dare you assume.....ah hell, yea its a PM 60 Well I finally got her running good, with some help from my dad, I guess after rebuilding dozens of ole Mercurys and tri five Chevys you can know what an engine needs by ear! lol As it turned out the needle on the left is the idle and I had it set too low, the needle on the right slightly higher was the L screw and it has a fixed H. at WOT it sounds a little fat but not much I can do about that with no H screw to adjust. I swear I am gonna finish my Homelite 750 project one of these days, just now that it is completely disassembled and most of it is blasted and waiting for prep, the complexity scares the hell out of me. With the scarcity of pistons and cylinders, makes me nervous to mess it up with my inexperience. May just get it all powdercoated and see if Leon would be gracious enough to get her back together for me!
