Very nice saws but you need some over spray paint on that stool.

One hell of a score there Greg! Looks like you had a great trip.
Is one of those shop stools a prerequisite for getting such great saws? I gotta get me a stool.

Love the GS models. I'll get number 3 someday. Can lighting strike in the same place 3 times? On your GS's are the ID tags still there? Is there a number stamped after the model number? Looking at the spec sheet there are 2 different GS's, GS1 and GS2. I believe the only difference is the gear ratio for low gear. Do you know what low gear ratio your saws have?

Inquiring minds wanted to know, so I dug for information and had a look at the ID tags. The non-restored one is: Model 770 GS1 SN:1405664 ... early 1963 vintage The restored one ..a bit harder to read.. is Model 770 GS1 SN:1405687 Guessing at the ratio, from the picture of the available space between the gear and case, to be 2.84:1 .. but difficult to tell...could easily be 3.57:1

Very nice saws but you need some over spray paint on that stool. My poor stool will never be the same since it was conscripted in my paint booth garage! haha

But went back, carefully studied the photos, counted the corroded hen's teeth, did some calculations... and Very confident the 770 GS1 is 2.84:1 low gear ratio ( 71 driven / 25 drive ) . Now I'm curious what the ID Tag on your 770 GS reads undee70ss, since I can't zoom in on the pic above. I have some miniature stool samples if anyone is interested. Also, many thanks to those that appreciate my efforts !

That has to be the single most rare part I have ever seen, a brand new in the box gear drive for an XL Automatic. Momma mia.
