Newbie. Got my hands on an old family heirloom 550 and looking to get her up to snuff to work on the bigger stuff. Would like to go with 36" bar to do some field milling and also buck the big stuff that's recently fallen from storms here in Northern VA. Discovering its a complicated task to find anything over 32".
I DO know its a 3/8" and 7 tooth drive sprocket gear currently running a 20" bar and 050 gauge Oregon bar.
Looking at the way the existing 3/8" .050 rides in the pocket of the drive sprocket (pn# 83284 - 7 spline 7T 3/8" pitch) it could go up in gauge probably to .063 just fine (?).
In search of advice on 36" bar fitment. The what, where, and who !!
Thanks all... Great forum!

Update.. in my research I've learned its a D096, D196 bar mounting pattern with 9.5mm bar mount studs.

Yes, you can use .063 gauge with the rim.

Went ahead and grabbed this! Thanks. Curious as to the manufacturer. Reported as Canadian. Any idea?

Could be Oregon made that was intended for another manufacture, and its just overstock. Pics aren't clear enough, but it does look like it has the new style oregon single rivet sprocket nose.
