Hello Friends, I'm working on a new to me '75 C-72 and it requires new fuel lines. Is the screwed in fuel tank fitting designed to come out to access the in tank line or do I need to go about this differently; because it's not budging. I'm afraid to snap it off with anymore force. Cheers. Steve

Yes, it is designed to come out.

Yes, it is designed to come out. Oh boy, it sure doesn't feel like it's gonna. What about removing the front cover? Thanks Gregg.

I would avoid splitting the tank at all costs. Have you tried any penetrating oil?

I'm not sure if it's pipe thread, but they can be a pain. I've found a 6-point socket with the rattle gun does the trick though. I've gone so far as to tighten slightly and then loosen...worked so far! I've never used a thread sealer when reinstalling it because it tightens right down, almost like a tapered thread.

I had to settle for option B, as A wasn't hearing it. Turns out someone else opted for B also as there was RTV sealant on the two halves in place of a gasket. I"ve painstakingly (about 2 1/2 hrs) made a new gasket to go back in place. Thanks for the help.
