I was cleaning out my uncles garage today and came across a homelite xl 921 saw and was just wanting to know a few thing about it. What would something like this be worth? Are they good saws? Is it worth trying to get running? The motor is not locked up it pulls fine but haven't messed with it much tonight. How available are parts for these? This saw is in VERY good shape and looks like it was hardly ran or cut very little.

First off, welcome to HOH! We're biased here and will tell you just about any Homelite is worth restoring! Seriously though, the condition you are describing sounds like a saw that should be well worth the time and effort. A runner with nice paint is probably worth $150-$250 on Ebay depending on the say of the week. Several of us have parts available...I have a website (see my signature) and Chainsawlady has a ton of parts in her shop. A few other members do as well and Ebay can be a good source at times. You'll need an IPL: www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/uploads/3/9/7/9/39792537/homelite_xl-921_xl-923_xl-924_chainsaw_ipl_24410.pdf

Thanks for the info guys! I would like to know what year this thing is. I cant find any info on identifying the year made by the serial number. I got the saw running and cutting! The pull rope gets stuck out every once in awhile tho but should be an easy fix. Please send me your email and I'll send pictures!! Sorry for the delay in responding.
