I scored this 2000 Automatic on Ebay last week...it's been a lot more of a challenge than I expected, but she is running as of tonight. Homelite 2000 Automatic Pre-Restoration (a) by Leon Crouch, on Flickr I've seen these in worse shape body-wise. Homelite 2000 Automatic Pre-Restoration (b) by Leon Crouch, on Flickr The muffler was all jacked up, one thread was stripped in the cylinder and the clutch assembly is missing...all of that is small potatoes compared to the stuck rings! Those came out in many little pieces. I migh thave been more patient with letting it sit in solvent, but I had a new set of rings waiting and I wanted to hear it run! Homelite 2000 Automatic Pre-Restoration (c) by Leon Crouch, on Flickr Years ago I stocked away a muffler cover and cylinder cover knowing I'd have one of these saws someday. Finally put them to good use! I also made a video of it running and then me jabbering about what the saw needed:

2100 use the same clutch and drum? If so you're more than welcome to the one off that other 2100 I have. I've decided to use it as a parts saw. I'm gonna rob the full wrap handle off it for my running 2100 cause it's in way better shape. If the clutch and drum assembly will fit I'll get it off for you next time I head home.

Thanks TJ! If I don't come up with something before then, I'll take you up on that!

Sweet score on the 2000. Did the piston use the plugs to retain the wrist pin?

Congrats! I'm waiting for pics of another shiny cool old restored Homie now! I'm stunned at what you do with them. I can shoot some paint too but I don't know if I have the patience and talent to make them look anything like you do.
I'm just assuming you plan to restore it?

I'm just assuming you plan to restore it? You know it! Once it's in cutting condition, I'll run it a few times before the teardown for paint.

Surprised it took you this long to get a saw from this series.

Surprised it took you this long to get a saw from this series. It was my own stubbornness...I didn't like the prices they were selling for and I knew parts are hard to find, so I passed a lot up. I finally pulled my head out of my wazoo and accepted reality!

Wonder if that clutch spider you have in stock (58546-1A) will work on the 2000 in place of 58546-2.
Also see you have the shoes:69754-1C, cover:56238-A, spring:55123-C, nut:81192, and a 7/16 spur & drum:A-56299

I believe 58546-1A uses 5/8 shoes.

I believe 58546-1A uses 5/8 shoes. Exactly! Also the reason I'm not inclined to use that spider...I'd really like to get a 3/4" clutch in there. I'm certain I have a 3/4" 1050 clutch kit squirreled away, I just haven't had a chance to dig for it. I've got a 350SL and a 410 splatted on the bench, a customer's XP-1130 on the way, a 995D currently being painted, a XL-500 currently being painted....I'm great at time management, as I just use up all my time!!!

The irony being that, if one of us had ordered it, you would have made sure to find it and had it shipped out the same day...
You need to give yourself the same great service you give to all of us. But then again, if I were to apply that requirement to myself, likely wouldn't workout as planned either.

Forgot to include a full time job in there too. That’s multitasking!!!! Way more than I could ever do. I usually only work on one saw at a time. I don’t have anything on the bench yet, haven’t decided which one is next, I did sell a new member some rings, so I best need to take care of that first.
