Hi,
New to the forum, and this is my first post! I am having trouble finding a 36" bar for my Homelite 750, a Homelite bar would be preferred but open to other brands as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Justin

Hey,
Thanks for the welcome, will do! I have seen that bar, and to be honest I am not sure if my 750 will be 3/8 or 404, as it hasnt actually artived yet! Haha just want to be ready for when it does, which should be on Monday! I assume it is going to be 404 and 063 gauge however. Is it hard to modify Husky bars to fit?

Welcome to the House of Homelite. Lots of information here for sure.
I would second the chainsawlady (joycewilson26@gmail.com) for bars, she has a stack of NOS Homelite's and good prices. Don't expect an instant response, she has other things to do and there might be a couple days wait.
I don't know about modifying Husky bars, I don't much care for modifying any bars. Sell the wrong bar and buy the right one, that is what I would do for a cutting saw. If it is for a shelf queen, grind away. :{)

Ok, thanks for the reply, I will be sending her a PM and patiently wait for a response! I got plenty to learn about these good ole Homelite saws!

Welcome! Dan has given you great advice...hopefully chainsawlady has something in stock. If not, large bars turn up on Ebay fairly frequently, but you have to check each day...some deals go fast.

Does a bar for a 1050 fit a 750?

That particular bar on eBay does not fit a 1050, it will fit your 750 though.

Awesome, really appreciate the info! I think I am gonna really enjoy this forum! Bar has been ordered, and now I gotta find a 3/8 sprocket! What kind of clutch drum do you have now, a spur or a rim drive? If a rim drive, is it a 6 spline or 7 spline? What kind of clutch, 3 shoe or 6 shoe? These questions do make a difference on what fits and what don't.

That may be easier, didnt see any Homelite sprockets on ebay, and am not sure if Oregon makes a replacement.

They did make 404 .050 gauge chain but you are never going to find any. It will be easier to change to a 3/8 rim, if a 7 spline or a 3/8 drum. Wait till you get the saw, and see what you got first.

Well, I finally got back home and unboxed the saw. It is a rim drive sprocket so that is a plus. I am having difficulty removing the clutch to see what kind of sprocket it is. Any advice on removing it, I ant see anything holding it on and assuming it can be pryed or tapped off like on a Mac.
