Thanks Greg! It amazes me what a 100' spool of chain cost back in the day...today's chain is a bargain in comparison!

Thanks Greg! It amazes me what a 100' spool of chain cost back in the day...today's chain is a bargain in comparison! It probably cost more because it was more labor intensive to assemble. They didn't have the automated equipment like they do today to make chains. A 100 foot roll back then cost more than most saws.

I've never had any problems with Carlton products, but I've heard some not so good things about Carlton too. Ed

Nowadays Carlton & Oregon are both owned by Blount Industries, so you can be sure it's the same stuff! Older Carlton was good chain in my experience.

Here are the older Oregon and Sabre codes I believe there may be a typo in the description on the 62AC3 7/16 chain. Acres site lists it as .063 gauge. I have measured my NOS chain stamped 62 on the drive link and 62AC3 on the box and it was indeed .063. Chart above shows .058. Looks like the 61 and 62 gauge descriptions are transposed.

Great info.... However, how about posting them where a member can download or print out the data. To the best of my knowledge, every one of these pics via Flicker has the picture set to "no download". If this is a HOH to Flicker issue perhaps someone could post via another app which would allow the HOH members to download/print the info. If anyone knows of a way to print these charts "as is"... please advise.
Thanks,
Charlie
