I don’t know how many other brands were like it but tonight was the first one of those air filters I’ve seen with the metal tabs around the grommet. The blue and white super XL I came across tonight has them and now this picture is the second one I’ve seen

Our Homelite salesman told us when the XL-12 was shown by Homelite it was a surprise to all competitors. The original work on the new saw was done in someones basement and not in the main Homelite plant. It was a shock for the competitors when the first XL=12 was shown. Lombard, Remington and more immediately started to copy the saw and soon came out with their early copies. Our salesman was Fats Herbert from the Cincinnati, branch. chainsawlady
