I can only remember one of those starter rings every passing through feebay. Seems like it was a couple years back. I remember the seller was Cali-picker or something along those lines. They sold some amazing parts. Remember even a NOS 770GS gearcase. Of course I missed those, but did get some pretty good stuff. I've often wondered if a C series starter housing could be cut out to fit a 995. Never tried it, but the starter pulley mount should be the same. Biggest question would be the depth and if there's enough flat area to cut out the mounting holes where it attaches to the flywheel cover.

Only the xp 1000 2000 etc starters fit the slim ones. The c5 etc dont fit between wrap. I have for sure thought about cutting up a starter on c series.

I couldn't stand waiting, so I measured a C91's starter opening and compared with a 995D. Not good news . The starter ring on the 995s are larger in diameter, so cutting a C's grilled area under the starter probably wouldn't fit well. The 2 sure do look similar though. The C's is a tenth or so under 6" diameter. 995's is at least 1/8 larger. I'd imagine the 995 flywheel and/or screen would be too big in diameter to fit inside. P1030322 P1030323 Dan

Dan I did to. Just after I bought a EZ250, they had brand new clutch covers with the decal which of course I bought. They must have been tired of listing Homelite parts and just recently dumped their entire Homelite inventory on eBay into parts lots, which I did get a few of them.
