Where is a good place to order fuel line from? I know it’s on amazon but all I seem to find there are orders of assorted sizes some I don’t need and the lengths seem odd to me...but then it might be me that’s odd🤔

The guys in our area collectors and cutters group rave about Echo fuel line. They no longer use the yellow Tygon. Another plus, it's black.

I'm curious as to why anyone prefers a black fuel line.I'd think it'd have drawbacks to it - black draws heat ,& therefore a premature disintegration.Whereas a clear line (or yellowish) will not have that effect, plus you can see if the line is getting fuel drawn through it & air bubbles, etc.Just my thoughts. I am going to try the black simply because my idea of restoring is to have everything as close as possible to OEM. I believe all the original line was black on the saws I have so far. I'm not so much about painting (which I am going to complete blast and paint one of my C-72's) but I want original. I know its off subject but even down to the '85 K30 I have. I really didn't want to modify anything in the dash for a new stereo so I did without for awhile till I found that they now make a modern (Bluetooth, mp3) stereo for GM that fits and looks original down to the 5 chrome selector buttons under the display. Anyway I will still use some of my saws but even the ones I use I want them to be as close as possible with no modification to being as they were when originally sold off the line. but that's just me

Also my apologies for that gross misspelling of Tygon in the title, I’m gonna blame that one on the IPhone

Check for fuel line package with Leon, he has some kits with all the stuff needed, or just the line.

I may look into that...the Tygon has served well, but as John mentioned the original Homelite stuff is mostly black.

My local ace hardware has been my source for fuel hose. They sell "Micro Fuel Hose" by the foot. Up until recently it has been red and I believe it is Tygon, but recently they changed and the new stuff is black, but seems to be the same material. Haven't had a chance to try it yet but worth a shot! IIRC think the 3/32 ID by 3/16 OD is $.99 /ft
For what its worth though, I actually prefer the translucent hose for the aforementioned reasons- namely you can see if fuel is flowing

The one downside is it is not very resistant to the Ethanol in fuel. It gets soft in the tank and hard outside the tank too quickly. Saws that run only on Ethanol enriched fuel probably aren't going to get more than 4-5 years out of a set of hoses. Far less if the fuel is actually allowed to go stale.

That's true, ethanol is pretty much the worst thing ever in my book. I don't run it in any of my saws equipment, boats, etc.

I went to a VP premixed fuel siminar a while back and the tech guy speaker said alcohol acts as a solvent and can disolve any organic matter if in contact long enough, including fuel lines and crankshaft seals. Once exposed to alcohol the deterioration starts and cannot be nuetrilized.Replacement is required. One tank of fuel with alcohol starts the cycle that cannot be stopped. Best to use fuel without alcohol. Not even one tank full. Check out the great info and benefits of using VP premixed fuel on their website. vpracingfuels.com/
