Nice setup for firewood, nice load of rock oak. Good fun, good exercise. I have an 8" dump trailer and if I don't have time to process the wood off the trailer, and dump it on the court, it's a pain to either noodle all the big ones or try to lift them. I crushed a finger back in October 17 and it's just now getting to where I can clip the nail again. So, I bought this Harbor Freight motorcycle lift as a feed table. It was on sale for $299 and will lift 1000 pounds. It will lay down almost flat and it has a 2 foot ramp I haven't put on it yet. I can roll the big ones on it and lift them level with my splitter beam. Works great, Joe.

So that'd be an easy way to strip metal for painting. This post was made with due respect to all members involved.

The lift also makes a great mobile workbench if it's nice weather and you want to work outside in natural light, Joe.

It goes on sale at Advanced every now and then for, buy one get one free, and I buy a whole case. I use it for cleaning most anything metal. I even clean oil drops off the garage floor with it. There may be more user friendly stuff out there, Joe.

Just keepin this thread up to date. Picked up another Super 1050 for $40, full wrap, missing clutch cover, has a Blue air box looks like it came off a C5. Pulls over and feels like good compression. Came down with pneumonia right after I got home so haven't poked and prodded it yet.

Hard to tell, the compression gage should tell the story.

Some carbon scoring but should still run is the psi isn't to low.

Just stuck the gauge on it and only got a touch over 110 PSI. I always heard it took 100 PSI to run, rule of thumb. Now I'm paying for selling the NOS P/C I had.

Take it apart, if the cylinder is salvageable, then just need a piston and rings. You could even just put new rings and make it a beater saw.
I would have kept that NOS P/C, to hard to find replacements.

I was thinking a cleaning and rings might boost it up enough to run. It's getting about 110. I get these periodic lapses of sense and do really stupid stuff. Like when I sold most of Dad's saws the first time. Then I had the purge when I gave Steve and a bunch of others a pile of saws. I had bought the NOS p/c for the 1050 I gave Steve. Then I found a real clean used one that I gave him. After a while I figured I'd never get another one, so I sold it. Since then I've bought 2 more, and passed on a really nice one for $200. Oh well, at least the C72 started up!
