So, in Firefox, there's an addon called "Photobucket Hotlink" that handles the third party issue. Again, it depends on the browser you're using as to what the "fix" would be. Dan

Yes,I've come across that post at least twice in the lat three months.I just Googled it - you made it on 1/30/2011.The thread is called" Homelite 340 Rebuild".I can't get the link on here.It says that "all third party hosting has been disabled".I just posted on that old dormant thread. You should be able to locate it now. What I meant was, there was a thread talking about how to enable photobucket third party hosting, so you'll be able to see the 340, or any other photos that are hosted on photobucket on any forum. Again, for firefox, there's an add on called "Photobucket Hotlink" that makes it work. I just don't know what browser you're using.

Apologies for the repeated posts about about photobucket. We've moved the discussion over to the 340 thread. So, back on topic to all the good stuff about 8800s. I remember over at AS there was discussion about using a Stihl (I think) 066 or 660 boot in place of the Homelite boot. apparently it's pretty close in size and shape to the 8800/540 boot, and it's a good bit thicker and durable. Requires a little trimming, but will work well. I've bought a few of the boots (a pretty good while ago), but haven't had one fail, so yet to try it out personally.

Now that is a good hint to remember. Randy on Ebay is the only one with boots and he wants $40!

I'll be needing one of those boots on my 540 when I get around to it.I just checked the Bay,right around $10 give or take a buck or two. That sure does beat a $40 boot by a mile! This post was made with all due respect to the members involved.
