Back in the day I didn't particularly like the thicker padded coatings. I was even known for cutting them off my personal work saws. One thing is it kept some of the other guys from grabbing my saw after they stuck theirs in the dirt. The other is I have smallish hands and I got a better grip without the padding. Might be why I have nerve damage in my hands. Is there any way to put a green plastic like the originals on a handle? I was thinking about restoring my XL924, but if I can't do the handle I don't see the point of doing the saw. Unless of course, I stumble upon an NOS one, Joe.

Other than NOS parts, I don't know what you'd use for a replacement on a green handle. Hopefully somebody else has a good idea!

I have a saw with a green anodized handle, not paint, not plastic. I don't know what that would be correct for except that it would be tough to replicate at home anyway. I am sure it could be done with a battery charger, some acid and some dye.

I'll start looking for an NOS or near mint one. It'll turn up. This is what I'll be looking for. No hurry though, it's way down on the work bench list, Joe.
