According to Ms Joyce that bar was listed in her Oregon books I believe she said in 1980 as a 32”, takes 94 drive links of .404. The seller on eBay had three I made a deal on two, one is on my C-72 the other is on the shelf awaiting the right saw😁

Hoping to find a stencil kit so I can restore the bar back to original besides just the gray. I found a bar for my Homelites that was an "M" brand, but that came off with a swipe of carb cleaner, left the gray base coat. You might try that, just a quick wipe with a wetted rag. Mine worked fine with zero damage to the gray. Of course it still has the original brand and part numbers stamped into the steel but that is pretty hard to see.

Saw looks awesome TJ.
I thought Sugar Creek made bar stencils along with the other decals, no?

Yeah, the gray has alot of rust spots all over it so it'll get a fresh base coat for sure. May not worry about the letter, but if a stencil kit pops up I'm gonna give it a shot.

Why not use a Homelite bar stencil? ( unless you want to keep the original Oregon look) Some Homelite bars were made by Oregon.

Well I’m curious now that I have thought more about. Did you have any luck with the bar stencil? Like I said I have two of the same bar I bought from the same seller on eBay. I am going to restore one of my C-72’s and put one of those bars on it. It does have some rust spots much like yours I would imagine. I think I would prefer to stick with an Oregon stencil if there is a such thing.

Still waiting on those dang decals to...been almost 4 week now.

That is a really terrific looking saw! Really! That would be over my mantel, if I had one. Absolutely deserves a display place of honor. Well Done!

I’ve seen many posts and threads about cleaning and painting saws but noting on the bar. What do y’all do as far as prep and primer on the bars?

Well you really got my mind going now on the bars I have. I was think rust oleum myself but I’ve also been thinking bar stencil. I’m thinking I can go to one of these graphic design places around with the bar in hand and see if they can re print that Oregon label on there and make a stencil that way. Hahaha then I have to stop and think of what they may cost 🤔
