I don't know much about that saw but it appears with some cross referencing several sites that it should have .325 chain, that would have a 20 on the driver if it was Oregon, not 72. 72 says that chain is 3/8's and will not fit. Your chain might not be Oregon, there are lots of different codes. Check houseofhomelite.proboards.com/thread/6607/chain-linkCan anyone else confirm .325?

The chain ordeal wasn't the only thing that irrtaed me.The person who sold it to me thought thery were being very considerate & wrote a note which said"Just spray some starting fluid in the saw & it'll start right up".I know you're NEVER supposed to use ether because there's absolutely no lubrication in it.This makes me wonder how long they wrer doing this.Alo,they never drained the gas out of the saw.MORONS!

I think Dan has it nailed, the chain is wrong pitch. That saw definitely was intended to use .325" chain. Not uncommon for amateur Ebay sellers I'm afraid.

After the letter was included with them telling me they used starting fluid (only God knows for how long) & the wrong chain on the saw,I decided to send it back.
