I have a NOS 28" Homelite bar SP28381-A3. It is the silver bar with the red Homelite letters and red outlined stars. It has slight surface rust but could easily clean up.It is the size three bar mount that fits 150,ez,sez,xl101-123,350,360 saws. I would like to trade for a 20 or 24 bar that fit my sxlao. I have pictues I can text to see the bar condition.
I think the older 360 had the 150/EZ mount and the newer ones had the 360-750 mount? I would have tried to grab this bar for my 650 if I thought it would fit.
The only difference I found in the old and new 360 is the cover itself, the adjustment pin, screw, nut and guide plates and drive case cover nuts are all the same, so wouldn't a old cover allow the bar to be used on the 360, still cant figure out why the cover would make that much of a difference.
The XL101-XL123 use the bar mount too, at 59cc on the later ones I could see a 28 in the west coast soft wood. The 350-360 has 5/16 studs on them so to use the common XL-12,super XL and up bar you have to use the S clip spacer. The later homelite bars that are five mount will interchange between the two mount,XL-12 and up, and three mount,150,sez,xl-101-123,350,360. bars w Example: PT-l437l-D4 PT 14 37 1 D 4 1 2 3 4 5 6 1:Type of Bar: HT - Laminated with induction hardened nose. PT - Laminated with sprocket nose GW - Solid with gas welded hard tip nose SP - Solid with sprocket nose
5: Revision letter which signifies a change, e.g., "D" means that the bar can accomodate Homelite's exclusive "Safe-T-Tip"
6: Guide Bar Pad Configuration 1 - SlOSO, S2100, Sll30G, Wiz's 2- XL-12, SXLAO, 900's, 4 5o • s , 6 so ' s , c- 7 2 3 - 150, SEZAO, 350, 360 4- XL's, XL2's, Super 2, VI Super 2's 5 - Denotes universal guide bar which can replace any of the ith 2 or 3 configurations
"The later homelite bars that are five mount will interchange between the two mount,XL-12 and up, and three mount,150,sez,xl-101-123,350,360. bars" I'm not sure what that means.
The numbers on your bar, looks like it would fit any of my older SXLAO or my 360. I could only see a design change in the revision 1 360 drive case cover that made it different than revisons 2 and 3, maybe there were more revisions? But all use the same adjustment parts and cover nuts. I bought two PT20381-G3 bars from Joyce for my 360 and XL-850, other than one being power tip and the SP28381-A3 being a sprocket tip the only difference I see is the A revision letter. It look s like the SP28381-A3 adjustment holes are a little more of a horizontal triangle and the PT20381-G3 adjustment holes are vertically horizontal, the longer bar seems to have only one oil hole, so may no be able to be reversed?
