Hi Brian!
Oh, I have been around....working on a ton of new decals and a day or two away from releasing my first four bar stencils!
As for the 20MCS cylinder....I really didn't need it,...thought it would be neat to have....it was one of those impulsive decisions to initially bid!! I have a 20MCS that is in perfect shape....was never used that much. It will eventually get completely restored. I really only need one for collection. I have so many other saws that are really neat to run! My 20MCS has an original bar with 5 big holes in it along with a 9/16" pitch chain......now that's just cool!! My 26LCS is also in pristine condition...I have a NOS bar for it and a NOS slicer chain....it will be another cool one for display!
I am going to make a trip in July up to the Northwest to see a big collector who has one of the largest collections in the world...over 3000 units! After that, I am going to be running my daughter up to Dakota State (she just got a scholarship to be the team's setter in volleyball!) in August....after I drop her off, there are a couple of barns that I need to visit (if you know what I mean!)
Don't know if you saw it or not before Christmas....I bid on and picked up a VI-130....never knew it existed! Another addition to the collection.
On the subject of cylinders, I have a friend out in California that was in the small engine business for over 30 years....he always honed his Homelite cylinders before putting in a new set of rings. He would remove the cylinder, put a 320 grit ball hone on an electric drill, submerse the cylinder into a bucket of diesel fuel, run the ball hone in and out, in and out...counting 1,2,3,4....that's it. He claimed it gave the new rings a great seat and wasn't enough to do damage to the chrome plating....I need to do a little more research....I might try it on a SEZ cylinder and see how it goes.
Anyway, good talking with you......hope your doing well! Talk to you soon!
Joe
