I have a zama carb off of a Super XL and I am looking for a kit. All it says on it is C2, is that all there is to the model, a Zama C2?

If you don't have it off yet, there may be a couple more numbers/letters you can't see. Only Zama I've worked on is a 2003 Husky. They do show a C2 but I think it is broken down a little more regarding kits. www.zamacarb.com/page/disassembly_servicing_1

Type C2 into the Carb search box & you get two options. www.zamacarb.com/carburetors/carburetor_lookupIf you click on the links at the top and choose the next one over for kit lookup, you get other options but none promising. (3 discontinued and 1 available for $55.-) Can't find the picture of my carb but it looks just like this. Top numbers being the ones that matter. 791_1 by Kyle, on Flickr Good luck, if I never have another Zama carb I'll be happier for it.

Be careful of the kits available on evilbay. Many of them right the auction title making it sound like it's a Zama OEM kit but it's not. I got mine from a new england company over the summer, said Zama rebuild kit, but didn't show the package just the parts. It was a aftermarket kit, missing the fuel pump diaphragm and one of the welch plug was a full 1//16" short. If you can get the kit straight from Zama, your better off. Zama does have a "find a dealer" link on their web site but it mostly gets you big distributors, at least for my area. Roughly 15 small engine shops in my area, not one carries/stocks any Zama kits.

I am at the beginning of rebuilding a Zama C1S. Will do a complete dismantle and submerge into a sonic cleaner. My question is, are the preliminary HI/LO settings 1 turn/11/4 turns? Wish me luck at this, I don't want a carb key fob.

The rebuild went well, knowing the complete carb number made finding the right gasket kit. The settings ended up being 1 turn for the hi and 1 1/8 for the lo. Saw runs very nice, will need a final tune when I mount a bar and chain. Hot water, gun part solvent, and a sonic cleaner make it easy.
