Thank you. It still needs some detail work before I clear coat it. The white was done with some heavy 1 part white sink epoxy applied with a sponge brush, the red was taped off using frog tape and painted with custom red alkyd enamel with reducer and hardener shot with a preval spray device. the whole process over three days took about 30 minutes all told.

Right but the prep work and cleaning of parts getting them ready to paint took a lot longer than that. Painting is one thing but the prep work taken before paint is what really shows

Right but the prep work and cleaning of parts getting them ready to paint took a lot longer than that. Painting is one thing but the prep work taken before paint is what really shows I use Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) powder mixed with water and I apply it with a toothbrush, scrub brush, and pipe cleaner, no metal wire, then I wash it with simple green and use clean water to rinse. That removes all oil and residue as well as a lot of the paint. After it dries a good aircraft grade primer works well, don't load it up, but rather several light coats; sand or scrubbing a little between coats. If there are any large divots I use JB weld to repair them leaving them high to sand down, small scratches can be filled with spot putty, after sanding the patches another coat of primer over the repair work, sand all parts, tack cloth, and your ready to paint. I use a 220 sanding sponge that is aluminum oxide on one side only and the sponge is 3" X 5" X1/2" thick. They wear down pretty quickly and actually work better for finer sanding jobs, so I save the worn ones. I've only seen them at paint stores, about .60 cents each.

I wish I could afford to send a saw body to you and let you prep it and paint it. I stay on the road hunting folks so much I rarely have the time it would take. You are very meticulous with your work.
