Hello, new member here. I need another chainsaw like I need a hole-in-the-head, but couldn't resist picking up this little Homelite XL UT-104442 S/N: 780681245 the other day for $20 off a local power equipment dealer who had several of them. The little tyke ran pretty well so I hauled it home. It was leaking gas (no duckbill valve) and wasn't oiling either, so typical me, I started tearing it down to see what was going on. After replacing all the fuel and oil lines, adding new duckbill valves, a new Champion DJ7J plug, general in-depth cleaning and learning that I needed to thin my summer formula Stihl bar oil down to get it to oil, it's running and oiling great. It has a 10" bar and 3/8" LP chain (41 DL). I added a bar tip guard (just think they look cool - not all that worried about kick back). I belt sanded the red paint off the bar down to bare metal and hand filed the edges. The chain is pretty well used, but after flying into it with a 5/32" file - it cuts great. My question is that I can't find much out on this saw. I'm looking for a new 10" bar or a 12" if I have too for a spare set to have on hand. This won't be my "go to" saw for big jobs - but it will find a place in the bed of our golf cart for those unexpected "emergencies". Thanks for the help.

Nice to hear that the saw is in great shape, and deal was sweet. What a great use for the saw, run it ever so often, keep it handy, won't let you down.

Hi I am a new member. I have a Homelite XL UT 104442 chainsaw. It looks to me like there could be 2 different Carbs that could be in it. I would like to either get a kit or a new carb for it. Is there a way to figure out what Kit or what carb I need before I take it apart? Thanks for your help!!!
