The model 2000 shows the fuel tank is part number 58172-A1 and the model 2100 shows a part number of 58172-4. will the 2100 tank fit on the 2000? The tank covers share the same part number.

The 58172-4 supersedes 58272-1, so it should fit fine. I have no idea what the difference is though to justify a part# change.

Leon says that Permatex would be a good suitable alternative since the gasket is no longer available. If I go the route of buying the new cover from Leon, I can inspect and clean the interior part of the tank. If I buy the tank and cover from eBay I would have to disassemble the tank and cover to inspect and clean it, then use permatex to re seal it, any opinions are appreciated.

Leon has done this before, I would trust his experience. This is the dent right? Why not fill the dent and call it good?
