I have a line on an ST-80 trimmer on local CL, how different is it from the ST-100? What can anyone tell me about it. The guy says it runs well, (at least last spring it did) I am hoping he is correct. He doesn't want much for it so when I look at it on Saturday I am likely to bring it home.
Good idea or waste of time? (I like the idea and have never seen one of these in person so naturally I want it.)

The size of the cut is the biggest difference. The powerhead is the same, but since the muffler dictates the cut length, it's different along with the stand. I'd do it if the price is right!

Yeah, you would do it if the price was right Leon. Even is the price was a little iffy, eh? Well, the price was right. It does not run but then it is about 15* right now, not a lot of 2 strokes are running in this neighborhood today. It is complete and not beat up. The guy said he had moved on from Homelite to Craftsman. I gave him my condolences.
Looks like February 18, 1983, coming up on its 34th birthday. Too cold to work on it today, come spring when the grass starts growing again, I am betting on it running again.

You know me too well Dan! That's a great piece...when you get working on it, I have almost everything you could need. They're different but effective trimmers.

It feels heavy out on the end but that may just be because I have never held one before. It may be great as you say. :{)
