I have started taking my 1957 EZ apart and discovered some very hard build up inside the fuel and oil tank. Being 2 piece tanks, I have opened them up.
Any suggestions on how to clean up this build-up? Solvents? Some type of media blast? My dremel is always an option....

I use soda blast to clean up carbon and burnt on oil deposits from cylinder heads and other parts. Also mild enough to clean up carburetors. There's other mild abrasives but what's nice about baking soda is that it dissolves easy just in case you don't clean up 100% of the residue. Haven't tried it on gasoline varnish though, so not sure if it will be abrasive enough.
