With how expensive 330 oil pump diaphragms and complete pump assemblies have gotten, I thought an "instructional" video on how a 330 pump works would be in order. They can be frustrating damned things, but with some patience, they almost always can be salvaged.

I realize this video was done a few years ago, but can you explain how the oil tank and supply line work as well. There is a duckbill behind a filter above the air filter element and appears to allow air in,but not out. Is the oil tank pressurized? I have a saw with a small leak in the cap cork gasket and can not get any air flow (suction or vacuum) on the oil supply line at the oil pump barb. With the supply line and filter removed from the tank, air flows both directions. This leads me to believe the oil supply line collapses closed when installed in the saw. What am I missing?

The oil tank is not pressurized. The duckbill beneath the bronze filter is supposed to let air in. The pump is supposed to siphon oil out. What you are describing seems to indicate that the duckbill has failed.

Anyone figured out how to get the brass filter out of the 330 oil tank/handle without destroying it? I have yet to see that filter for sale or listed.

One guy I talked with a while back was able to get his out with a pick/awl with no trouble at all. I have not had that experience and I'll be damned if I know where to get a filter!
