Hey, that looks really nice. Does it say "John Deere" on the bar? I had to find a decal for the clutch cover for mine, settled for a reproduction that was pretty close.
I am curious to find out the build date, I have one and I saw two others on the web, all built on the same day, Tuesday, March 5th, 1996. UT 10762, sn's JR0650002, 0024 and 0263. I'm gonna guess that the starting J indicated John Deere.
How about your's?
Anyone else have one of these JD SXLAO's?

Mines JR1270063. I wonder if they were only built for one year? I have only seen 1996 saws.

That is at least the second day they made them. I was wondering if it had only been one day when the only three I had seen were all built on the same day. Keep your eyes open, by those numbers we could only prove they had built 263 plus 63 for a total of 326. I think Leon said he had one up in the attic but apparently we are not important enough for him to go look at the number on it.

You are important enough, but the tag is too faded to read, even up close. I don't know how the rest of the saw is in such good shape with the tag this bad! At least we got another shot of the stool.
Dang it, I was counting on that tag to add more info to this mystery. It does look like a guy could guess it says 1996 but that is not a lot of help. I think 1997 and 1995 can both be ruled out though.
Even in person, you can't read any of the digits?
Looks like Leon's and my bars are black, I don't recall what the other two I saw were.
Thanks Leon, I knew you would come through if I jabbed you a little. :{)

One is a 540. Maybe someone tried to clean the saw with WD40 or something, which would take the ink off of a printed tag real quick. Just a guess though.

Brake clean will take it off fast. Also will take the shine off the paint.

Well, that IS interesting. (Wish I had thought to look there!) All the saws that have been seen are 1996 and Homelite sez they were built till 2000...
Everyone keep your eyes open for these things please. Since the date was included on the tag, any saw built after 1996 (or any year for that matter) should be easy to spot. I am more curious with each tidbit of info.

I never noticed that the memo, H00A-012 included John Deere saws.

Yeah, the memo calls the model just "350", not "350CS" like on the saw, that is curious too, eh? Maybe John Deere had other items with 350 for a model but Homelite did not.

Im pretty sure someone just didn't enter the "CS". I checked some other John Deere saws and they are in there too. UT10763 is the 550CS, and the memo just has 550.

Nice catch, love to see that light-yellow on a homelite, a little different color from old McCulloch;s. A little late but better than nothing, Congratulaitons! Chy

Great find. What years were they built? The John Deere was built in 1996. The SXL Limited Edition was built in 1992

Just finished this one. Has a old Homelite "stars" bar that was found in a barn. Has a few parts from Leon and a chain from the Chainsawlady.

Bar is a 32 inch. Bar didn't look much used, but being in a barn left a light coating of rust. I'm sure it will come off, and what little paint is left once I stick it in the wood.
