so I can hang out at the HoH!!! Good to see some familiar nmes here Anyway, a couple weeks ago I picked up a XP1100. I'm going to need a muffler though. I'd also like to know if anyone sells a 404 sprocket for these? The acquisition of the saw was conditional. lol, I had to take a Reed-Prentice, David Bradley and a C9 parts saw. The price was right. ;D

Welcome to HOH, Chowdozer! Sounds like you got a nice selection of saws, with the Homie Check the NOS area of the board and the 'sale and trade' areas, if there's nothing there post your needs there. A lot of members have NOS stuff not listed, someone here is bound to have it. CSW

Hay chowdozer and welcome! A XP1100 is quite a saw for an intro to Homelites. A 100cc gear drive certainly holds a high position in the rungs of these great saws. I never ran any of the gear drive saws, but can imagine they are a nice handful that's loads of fun.

Since the XP series is after my time, I know nothing about it but I see in the above posting that it is a 100cc gear drive. Must be a lot of saw! What length bar is on it? I went to Oregon site and they only list a 21"bar and .404x.063 chain for the XP but they don't specially list the 1100, 1000 and 2100 but no 1100. Is .404 normal chain for this saw? Oregon doesn't list a hub either.

This series of Homelite geardrives used 1/2 or 9/16" pitch saw chain, with bars up to 60". While I haven't run this one, I have run one similar to it, they are everything you would expect.

I have multiples of the XP1100, 1130G and 3100G. All of those old gear drives are excellent old saws. I will be running a XP1100 with a 50" bar and 1/2" full chisel chain this weekend at a show. I love that old 1100.

Here's the Reed-Prentice. According to Mike Acres site this is a 1947. It's kinda cool it has a twist grip throttle. But it's a heavy beast.

Here's the reason I took the other two. Didn't really want the package full meal deal, but that's the only way I could get the Homelite. I've always wanted a gear drive around 100cc. This is it. On Acres site it says they came with 3:1 and 2:1. Don't know which this is. It has a 28" bar with 9/16" chain. It's all there except the muffler.

Does anyone know the time frame that Homelite made the XP series? I don't think Minnesota has trees big enough for these saws so maybe that is why I'm not familiar with them. ;D It looks like some of the XPs are available in either gear or direct drive.
