I have a 330 that was passed down to me by my father. His jack wagon small engine repair guy said that it needed "an expensive electrical part, that cost more than the saw was worth" Dad used this as an reason to get another very nice new saw. Gifted defective saw to me. It would start and run for me, then shut down. Could restart, then it would stall out again. Disassembled, and cleaned carb. Ran like a million bucks that entire day. Next time I went to use it, it repeated the jacked up situation. Starts runs dies. Today I rebuilt the carb with rebuild kit that I purchased locally. Same stuff. Starts runs dies. When it is running it has full power. Found this great forum and found the boot forum. Disassembled the entire saw and my intake boot looks great. During dis-assembly found the ground wire frayed coming off of the kill switch. Would this cause the engine to shut down?

Yes, if the frayed ground wire touches the metal saw case or engine it will kill the saw just like flipping the switch to off Tom
