Thanks RS and thanks Randy. Not planning on doing any more with the air box cover. Its got a chip broke out of the front, so if I find the filter is getting too dirty, I may try to patch it, otherwise I just plan to use it. I haven't mastered the art of polishing plastic yet.

Hey Dan, I have my 540 loaded and ready to go to this week ends GTG. I'll see if I can get some videos of it for you to compare. Right now it's set up with a 7 pin, 3/8, .050, full chisel, and a 24" bar. I'm also bring the 410 and have a spare 32" bar with skip to try out depending on the wood.......Yours sure looks nice!......Bob

Sounds great Bob! One day I've gotta get busy doing some video stuff. Wouldn't be bad to add a short clip here on this post.

I just posted a video of my 540 cutting some Oak cookies on Youtube. Just look for farley9n and there it is! It was taken at our Pacific Northwest GTG over the weekend. Randy Mac should also have some pictures to share from that event.........Bob

Wow. What an informative thread! I plan to convert a 540 to a 8800 (with CSW's) help this next summer. Thanks again for the wonderful posting.

would you get an 8800 running for me? send nearly 2 saws to you and you can keep all the spare parts, installed new coil, sparks like a bugger, awesome compression, will not fire a lick. tried to remove flywheel and replace with a different one figuring that was the issue, could not get it removed, gave up. email me bennettz@mwt.net
