Have been following your problems with the 750. Here is some information that I have you can check over. One of my 750 - IPL shows the valve connected using a shoulder screw #12861. The other IPL shows a retaining ring #75120 replaced by #UP06863. I have both of these parts and also the A-12712, valve. I never worked on the 750 and don't know if the two different systems are interchangeable. I also have the cylinder A-70489-A and it does contain the compression valve. Also have the spring 12867 shown in some parts book. chain saw lady

After a long delay, I got the 750 back together & running! I am still trying to hunt down a couple of parts. I haven't tuned it yet, just set both screws to 1 turn out. This weekend I plan on running it in some wood, & tuning it. I'll likely leave it on the rich side to be safe. I removed the .404 sprocket and replaced it with a 8 tooth 3/8. I stuck a 20' bar on it for now, buy would like to find a 28" 3/8 .050 bar. Thanks to everyone who helped me with parts and advice! I'll get some pics of the build up later. Jim

More pics! I think that this contributed to the piston & cylinder damage The pics are not great, but part of the boot was rolled under. Here is the completed saw.

Nice saw. I agree that it does look a little strange with the bar but that bar does have Homelite on it ;D Is that saw in the background on the top shelf wearing the bar that come on this saw?

Yes, the 32" .404 is now on the Echo. The previous owner of the Echo kept the 43" bar that was on it. Either of you guys (or RBW) have a 28-30" 3/8 .050 bar? Homelite preferably

Thanks Craig! Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to monkey with it!
Eric! If you have a 3/8 bar, that would be great! let me know what you find. This saw deserves a 28"+ bar, anything less is just silly ;D

I have the garter spring that goes on the carb boot Thanks TG, I reused the old one, Is that acceptable? It had a ton of spring tention around the base of the boot, so I figured it would be ok. Jim

Amazing saw CSW!!
Is it possible that the CJ-3 is wrong for the 750? (Homelite Service Manual Vol. 5) I think the 750 belongs a CJ-4
best regards Werner
