Could someone please tell me the Homelite part number for a Homelite SXL AO Bumper Spike? The Ut. No. on the saw is 10045c. I am restoring my saw and would like to put a bumper spike on it. Also I am looking for original Homelite Red paint and decals. The saw is about 20 years old and runs like a bear, I just want to pretty it up!
Thank You

May be more than one, but in at least 2 IPLs I have, the number A-59043 is a bumper spike for the SXL. Nice saws.

Oh, and as for paint... that's a tough one. I've used a Chevy red-orange (a little redder than regular Chevy orange) to repaint a 150. Its close, but by no means identical. The best bet for a perfect match is to have some automotive paint mixed to match a part on the saw.

Thanks Guys! I really appreciate the great feedback. I was thinking about taking a cover or something from the saw for a color match at the local MAB paint store, but I will follow your advice and go to an auto paint store. I have seen lots of bucking spikes on ebay so I think I can get what I need there. Thanks again!

i went to painters supply here in michigan and took a part from a super xl with me, and they were able to match it. I restored my 410 and super xl with it. not a perfect match, but it does look pretty. here's a pic of the super xl. it was $70 for the paint, plus the cost of hardener and reducer. but gas and oil don't even dull it, wipes right off without damage. s153.photobucket.com/albums/s221/gtor72/chainsaws/?action=view¤t=superxlafter.jpg
