You can also use muffler standoff studs from an XL-12/Super XL type saw with the older style muffler for the "deep nuts." The screws that hold the muffler cap on the XL's are 10-32 thread, same as the starter pawl studs on the SEZ flywheel. Just cut off the end of the standoff with the stud on it so you can get a 5/16" socket on it.

Small auto type pullers aren’t very expensive and even cheaper at Harbor frieght and come in handy for multiple uses and if you don’t have a tap and dye set maybe the easy way to go.some steering wheels have a similar set up and instead of a puller I loosened the nut to be flush with the steering shaft and whacked it with a heavy lead ,brass or dead blo hammer and this would loosen it( this was of course years ago when cars were steel and bolted together with simple but strong fastening methods and you simply pulled the horn cover off to access the column bolt.)if that did not work you again, went to buy a universal puller set.For loosening the nut?….use the rope trick ,don’t try hold the flywheel with something between the fins! Ask me how I know? Learned that years ago.
