I just acquired another SXL-925. The saw is in great condition, but there is a large quantity of a tar-like goo in the bottom of the fuel tank, which was presumably the result of the fuel line being dissolved in ethanol gasoline. I've gotten most of it out by soaking the tank with carburetor cleaner, mineral spirits and collecting the mess on a dowel a bit at a time. In order to get the last vestiges out of the nooks and crannies, I'm considering inverting the saw and sticking the wand of a pressure washer in the tank. Any thoughts on doing this? I don't want to do anything potentially damaging.
Thanks for any input.

I read that thread earlier, but what I've got is not varnish but tarry, sticky goo. This issue raised in that thread about the potential damaging effect of chemicals on the magnesium is the main thing I was also concerned about.
