I have a very old Super Mini S Automatic 14” chainsaw that needs a carburetor. I purchased a carb from Gardner Inc. that clearly is not the correct carb despite the Homelite diagram indicating it should fit. I contacted Homelite (the manufacturer) and they could not help me. Any ideas on where I might find the correct carburetor?
I could provide photos.

Parts diagram shows Homelite A68415A. Should be a Walbro HDC-64 / or HDC44.Used on different Homelite's. As ronaldt asked if carb is missing, there should be numbers on it to identify it. Cheaper to rebuild than buy one.

The old carburetor is not missing but I wouldn’t know where to start to rebuild it. The only number on the carb is 21-109.
The serial number of the saw is T82190146
Thank you all for your replies. Ill check out the ebay link.

Incidentally, the carburetor on my saw does not have a priming bulb.

An HDC carb is going to have the model number stamped on the fuel metering adjustment screws side of the main body. A smaller set of numbers near that will be the month/year date code. An HDC will need a Walbro K10-HDC kit. Use a genuine Walbro kit. It is a false economy to use others, and avoid China import kits. You MIGHT also need a check valve repair kit. You'll probably be better off using your original if it is not damaged.

You all have been very heloful, thanks. OK, looking near the adjustment screws I see HDC with an “L” directly below and the number 44 stamped to the side. The date appears to be 3/78

You should be looking for a Walbro HDC-44 carb.
It's very likely other HDC models used on EZ's and Mini's will work.
Others on here would know that.

Is Sten made in China or is it okay? Thanks

Walbro K10-HDC will be your best bet. Sten also makes good spec parts, but I'll go for Walbro as my 1st choice. Chinese kits are notoriously out of spec on the lower diaphragm dimensions, and tend to have seeping gasket leakage problems.

Hi all, Thanks to all if your great advice, I rebuilt the carb with the Walbro kit K10-HDC. That did the trick and my 40 yr old saw starts right up. I’m having a little trouble with the idle adjustment… the saw bogs down and kills after idling for a minute ir two. The challenge I had was reinstalling the carburetor with throttle linkage attached since I couldn’t manage to reattach it after the carburetor was back in place. Somehow I managed to tweek the linkage while wrestling with it and now the is “sticky” and won’t pull or release the throttle lever smoothly. It kind of clicks.
Anyway, I just wanted give an update and thank all of you fir your help and advice.
