Make- Homelite Model- Bandit SX 135 I was given this unit when a young teenager's parents bought him a replacement for his summer lawn care business. I assume it was due to intermittent operating issues but I got two growing seasons of use from it with little issues. Now, I am unable to get it to continue to run after less than 10 minutes of starting and using it. I can see the choke lever handle move from a position where the unit is operating as it should to a position where the engine starts losing power and choking due to what I assume is the butterfly valve inside the carb closing. It is my understanding this model was made with two different walbro carburetors? Is it possible the choke shaft is my problem and if so can I repair it? Or, any input as to what else might be the issue is appreciated. Thanks for any suggestions.

Could you post the UT#. I'll look on my microfiche cards for information. They had a Zama or Walbro carburetor on them. Your picture shows yours as Walbro.

Hi bobby167, excuse my ignorance when I ask what the UT# is?

No problem. Basic, the UT number tell what model your equipment is. Should be a tag on / around engine with UT # / Serial #. Most have it, some do not. I found your trimmer,SX135, on the microfiche card. Your carb should be a WT model. There is a number on carburetor to identify. Look on side of carburetor for numbers. You can repair choke. Probably what is going on, there is a return spring on it. It probably broke. I think the spring is used on different carburetor's. Suggestion is to search for WT-226-1 carburetor diagram. Look at diagram to see where spring is located.

That's what my file is showing. See my previous post to you & search for diagram for the carb. Find the number on your carb? You can use most of the WT series as a reference. Such as WT 220 / WT 458 / WT 71c. Best to have your carb number. If the spring on shaft is not broken, there is one in carb, with a ball. Problem is that most small parts are obsolete. You may have to get used one for parts.
