I just picked this up, no chain though but I think it uses that stradle type scratcher chain. There is a single rail on the bar. Does anyone know what this should be mounted to? 20MCS, 5-30? I want to mount it to the proper vintage saw. One happy camper to find it! Thanks for the help!

Hi Sawyer..........nice find!!! On the back cover of the 26LCS Advertising pamphlet it shows that exact bow bar mounted to that saw. Yours is called the "18 inch Bow Saw" and there was a bigger one called the "22 inch Bow Saw". That one had a pivoting carrying handle on the top where your fixed one is. So I'd guess your bow was made for the earliest saws, the 26LCS and maybe the 5-30, possibly others. I'm relatively new to this hobby, but have never seen one of those bars in real life.....thanks for posting!! If the brochure I'm talking about isn't in the archives here........let me know and I'll scan it and send.
regards, bob

It was full of crud. Does anyone know what this should be mounted to? 20MCS, 5-30? I want to mount it to the proper vintage saw. Near as I can tell this is NOS, rail and everything looks new. Now to find out how many links are in the chain! One happy camper to find it! Thanks for the help!

Hi Dan,
Let me figure out how to do that......I can only upload a MB to this old site, so I'm not sure how to make it a low enough resolution to be accepted. If you PM me your email address I can send a larger PDF or JPG file. Or if someone knows how to upload something bigger than 1MB please let me know.
thanks, bob
