Yeah,I bought a C52 last night on Feebay.I had to go a little higher than I wanted, but it's now mine. It's supposed to have good compression, that's all I know about it at this point. Ever since I bought my first C series saw I've wanted to complete the series. My first one was a C71 & I was hooked.I now have a C5,2 C7s,4 C8s,a C52,a C71,& 2 C91s.Still need to get a C51 & a C72,but these saws have a high resale value on Feebay.I've been checking my local Craig's List too,but the pickens are slim to none.

Hi Ed,
I was watching that one as well...........glad you got it. I'm starting to shy away from saws without bars and chains, as eBay sellers want as much for a decent bar as a whole saw. And those listing powerheads see what the whole saws are selling for and figure a bar and chain won't cost the seller much, so powerhead prices are climbing up to what complete saws are going for. I wasn't a huge fan of the C-series saws, until like you I got my first one. And now I think they're pretty sweet machines. Pretty easy to physically restore too. You might want to check OfferUp for saws for sale locally. Seems Craigs List has lost its luster among sellers. OfferUp is like a local online classified and you never know what might pop up right next door.
regards, bob

Thanks for the advice Bob.I was on Offer Up a couple yrs.ago & they just didn't have what I was looking for.Yeah,eBay is getting tough to buy saws on now. When I first started collecting saws a little more than 4 yrs.ago,ya couild get a decent saw for $25 - $40.Now it seems ya can't touch one for under $100.And as for bars, the F014 mount bars are next to impossible to find.About the only ones out there are Carlton bars & those are at a premium.I've got a couple small F014 mount bars (16-20 in.),but I like to put the bigger bars on them.

Well it looks like I got screwed on another saw.It took me almost 2 hrs.to clean the saw (not thoroughly either),replace some missing screws, discover it's missing the outer bar plate, fish the broken fuel line out of the fuel tank & find out the fuel tank is rusted, check for spark to find out it has none,& finally put a plug in it & pull it over only to find out it has low compression. The idiot also shipped the saw with fuel in it.I might end up shipping this junker back.

Hi Ed, Sorry to hear that. I've often wondered why so many sellers never take a few minutes and at least attempt to clean up what they sell. I know I have in the past bought some pretty grungy things, then just cleaned them up and resold them when I found a better example.....and got way more than what I paid for them. Now I'm starting to understand. These sellers don't want to know what's wrong with the stuff they sell........they just want it gone and use BS verbiage like "I know nothing about this item, bla, bla, bla". Again, sorry to hear you got a lemon. Sending it back might teach the seller something. But probably not. That's the world we live in today.
