Hi Guys,
I found lots of post about dating later saws, but haven't found the one on dating the early ones......like the 26LCS. I've got 3 and would love to know when they were made. If someone could point me to those instructions I'd be very grateful. My SNs are 378970, 379291 and 354645. I found out what years Homey made the 26, but don't know what the first and last SNs were. If anyone knows that I can just interpolate to get a rough idea of when mine were made.
thanks, bob

Go to the section "Figuring out when that old Homelite was built" and scroll down until you get to Joyce's sales records (it should be highlighted) click on it to download that information. This is all we have to get an approximate date on saws with a 6 or 7 digit serial number.

Thanks guys. I did look there, but missed the link to Joyce's list. I'll save that one. Your help is much appreciated!

Bob, there's some good discussion on here explaining all the Homelite serial number mysteries. Don't know if you'd be interested or not, but put together a little java app to decode serial numbers awhile back. Never really got much feedback on it, and it's not perfect, but it get's em right about 90% of the time. There's just still a few cases that seem to be exceptions to the rules. Here's a link to the post and you can download it there. Most computers have a java runtime installed, so if so, it should work. houseofhomelite.proboards.com/thread/7930/7-digit-serial-number?page=4Dan
