Did you guys watch the Epay auction this week for the Wiz 80 w/2 man bar? The auction started out with a Buy It Now for $450 I think. Might have been $480, but in that ballpark. Then the bidding started and it climbed all week. It ended with 2 guys fighting over it and it hammered home for $580....way higher than the Buy It Now. The purchase price included shipping, so that's significant. It ended yesterday and I checked it after that, and that's when I noticed the trigger handle was broken, something I hadn't seen earlier. That made me feel better for some strange reason, but I just shrugged and said ok. Then this morning I checked to see what new saws were put up last night and I see the same Wiz 80 up again. But now it's a Buy It Now only (no auction) and the price is $800!!! The seller writes "I had made a mistake in the last description. This saw runs it is my father's. I thought it just fires on ether". So he got it running while the auction was ongoing, and then waited until it ended to decide it was worth more. Nice. It's hard to feel bad for the two guys who ran it up to $580, but what's fair is fair, so the highest bidder got a raw deal. He should complain to Ebay. I know I'd be pissed if the seller pulled that crap with me. And I get that he got it running, and a running saw should be worth more.......but he should have stopped the auction before it ended, explained why, and then relisted. Seems integrity is also one of those things disappearing with the Boomer generation. Or maybe it's just me getting old. What do you think? ;0) bob www.ebay.com/itm/403452505278?hash=item5defa4acbe:g:no0AAOSwcXxh~qH0

This is exactly why I stay off Estupidity.I would complain that I won by high bid fairly and I expect a saw shipped to my door.

That happened to me twice on the same saws. The seller had a pair of Macs for sale & I was the only bidder.Seems to me I got the pair for something like $40.I paid right away & when it came time to ship, the seller "couldn't find the item".About a month later he relisted the saws.I bid & again was the only bidder & won.Same situation all over again. The saws just didn't go high enough to satisfy him.He should've had the bid start at a higher price,or had a reserve.I complained, but got nowhere.

Happens way to often, I'll buy stuff on eBay but do t do the bidding bs anymore because of things like this.. Or people go bid crazy

Yep, happened to me too. I was the only bidder on a nice C-5 for $50. After the auction the seller let me know he couldn't find it and feared he shipped it to another guy by mistake. He asked if he could cancel the transaction. I figured yeah, shit happens.....so no problem. Two days later he relisted the exact same saw for twice the price. He still sells a lot of saws on there, but I messaged him and told him what I thought of him, and that I won't buy anything from him again. I'm sure he couldn't care less. Takes all kinds, I guess.

I've kept an eye out for a Wiz 80 but I'm not giving $800 for one. Maybe if it was NOS, I know good luck, but not for a well used saw.
If that seller originally listed it for $300 I don't know why he wouldn't have taken the original auction price and been happy. Maybe someone got in touch with him and said he'd give more and convinced him to relist it. At any rate, it shouldn't have happened. I'd do my best not to buy anything from that seller and tell others what he did every time I could. Thanks for posting.

Personal opinion only, but it just seems a non-shipping seller is equivalent to a non-paying buyer. Don't know feebay rules, but you'd think if a seller pulled this crap they'd have their account suspended. Sellers seem to get the raw end of the deal in so many cases on feebay, but this is one where it seems they really should get some penalty. I guess since feebay's profits are based on percentages of selling prices,a case like this may actually benefit them, so it's allowed to slide.

Hi Dan,
Yeah, I agree with what you're saying. And I'd bet if someone complained to Ebay they would investigate. But if the winning bidder (who didn't get the saw) doesn't complain......eBay probably wouldn't know. If it were me.....I'd bitch. When Ebay first started out they were all about protecting the sellers. Then it switched (probably after enough complaints) and eBay took the buyer's seriously. I'm not sure where it is now, but I will say in Ebay's defense that in the couple of times sellers didn't ship what I won, and thus had no tracking info to show eBay......my money was quickly refunded. Ebay's sort of in a 'damned if you do, and damned if you don't' position. But if I were the high bidder in that auction and I won but had the item relisted at a higher price........I'd complain BIG TIME.
regards, bob
