Hi,
New to forum. Someone passed away and someone gave me that someone's Timberman 45. Someone else gave this Timberman 45 to the someone that passed away-point being I have a stripped down Timberman 45 sitting on the bench that's changed hands many times over the years...it's a bit of a reject but I have a soft spot for rejects.
I put a new spark plug in it, new gas, etc. the usual basics. Cleaned the carb which looked ok. while trying to reassemble, I snapped the ring off the piston. So I need one of those...
Is this thing worth fixing? I called the 1-800 number on the chainsaw and Homelite directed me here and said parts are difficult to come by as Homelite hasn't made a Timberman in 10 to 15 years. It seems like a throw away/give away China made plasticy saw...I am tempted to simply throw it in the garbage..anyone know where I can get parts and if it'd be worth it?

They are Chinese made saws, parts on ebay cheap
Is it worth fixing? That's a loaded question and have to ask yourself if it's worth fixing for yourself, me personally I would not bother with that model, but to each their own.
If you watch marketplace you could find a parts saw easily, for next to nothing
