Hi Guys, Did anyone see this auction yesterday on ePay for what I thought was a run-of-the-mill 26LCS? The link is below. It started out normal enough and then two guys went at it! What I'm wondering is.........is there something about this saw that I don't know (being a newbie)? Or were these just two stubborn bidders who didn't want to lose? Was it the first one built..........the last one built.........Bob McCulloch's personal favorite saw that he'd never admit to? I'm not seeing what made it so special, so if someone sees what that is I'd love to know. For those who don't want to go see it........it closed at $530 plus $38 shipping.......so almost $600 bucks!!! I bought one a couple weeks back minus the bar and chain, in what I think is a bit nicer condition, for $175, and another 'parts' saw missing a few things the week before for $75. So either I'm getting some smokin' deals (don't think so), or those two guys waaaay overbid. I'm curious which it is. thanks, bob www.ebay.com/itm/194756855364?hash=item2d5869c644%3Ag%3AWnQAAOSwTnRhdHtW&nma=true&si=q%252BrrVLc9wu5hkS78fzHLoB73eqM%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Bidding wars do strange things to the mind. First thing that sets in is, I gotta have it, no matter what. Second is, you'll never see another one, they are that rare. Then the mind is warped enough to say, 600 bucks must be a fair price. Hope the high bidder can maintain that big smile when the saw is unboxed, reality can suck sometimes.

That seller has sold a lot of saws. I figured he/she would’ve sold out by now. Some saws have been fair deals, some not. This one was not…..at least to me. I did buy a good one from the seller though at a good price. It was an XL automatic. Looked bad but cleaned up much better than I expected

Hi John,
I hear ya. That seller seems to have an endless supply of saws. Most are beaters, but there are a few diamonds in the rough. I too bought one from that seller that cleaned up real nice. You just have to look really carefully at the pics, as there's not much info discussed about the saws' conditions. The seller says something like 'I don't know anything about this saw......." for each one listed....so you're on your own pretty much. And most of the time the saws that sell from that seller have gone for what I'd call reasonable prices. This 26 LCS was interesting to me because it was somewhat complete, so I had my eye on it. But it quickly escalated into the stratosphere and I was watching just to see where it would end. When I checked to see who was bidding it became apparent that there were 2 guys who wanted it real bad.......for whatever reason.
Now there was another 26 LCS that sold today on ePay that was in better condition (in my opinion) that I bid on and won. But I was worried one or both of those guys who overbid the previous one would show up and start bidding away. They didn't, which is weird if they wanted a 26 LCS that bad, but I was the only bidder. So that's why I was wondering if there was something special about THAT saw that I wasn't seeing. Now I'm guessing not.
thanks, bob
